The Y EXPERIENCE: Tell Stories of Impact
Storytelling is a powerful way to communicate how the Y is playing an important role in the lives of our members and our community. That’s why I’m seeking stories of impact fromour members. I am hoping to promote our efforts in strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility .
Have a great example of how the Y has changed the life of someone? Complete this form and submit it to me at Kboeckman@suddenlinkmail.com
What Makes a Good Story
It’s specific: The story is about an individual, family, or other group that has benefited from one or more Y programs or initiatives, or have simply benefited from having a Y in Enid.
It’s quantifiable: The benefit is easy to communicate: improvement in grades, reduced risk of a chronic condition, weight loss, etc.
It’s unique: The story grabs attention in an out-of-the ordinary way.
It’s visual: The story creates a picture in the reader’s head; it would lend itself well to photo or video.
It resonates: The story includes drama and emotion, conflict and resolution.
