Youth Aquatics

Swimming is a life skill as well as great exercise and a challenging sport. Y’s offer swim lessons (for all ages), family swim, competitive swimming and swim teams, and many kinds of adaptive swim programs so we can all safely enjoy the pleasures of an aquatic environment.

The aquatics programs at the Y are about more than just the techniques and skills; they are about building friendships, developing self-esteem and creating positive experiences that will last a lifetime.

Swim Lessons

Morning Swim Lessons

YMCA Aquatics programs are designed to teach personal water safety, stoke development, water sports and games, rescue and personal growth skills to children.

Swim Testing

The YMCA swim tests all children under the age of 15 in order to prevent drownings and accidents. We strictly enforce this policy to ensure the safety of the children who use our pools.

Family Swim

During this unstructured swim time, families can enjoy our facilities! All children entering the facility must be swim tested by our staff.

Private Swim Lessons

Our youth private aquatics program is designed to teach personal water safety, stroke development, water sports, games, rescue, and personal growth skills to children. Private swim lessons are scheduled directly through each family center and the instructor.

Lifeguard Classes

Throughout the year the YMCA offers courses to certify lifeguards. Please contact your local Y for more information.
